We are anxiously waiting for Rosie to cycle for her spring puppies! Last spring she had a beautiful litter of F1 Labradoodles in Apricot, Creme and Black. They were wonderful puppies to raise and one of them, Alice, will hopefully be a breeding female for us later this year.
This time around we decided to breed Rosie to a Red poodle to begin our new line of Red Labradoodles! This is exciting for us and it will be really fun to see what colors she produces with this stud.
In other news, Marlee has now joined the ranks of our breeding girls. She passed her CERF exam for her eye clearance, and she also got a preliminary OFA rating of "Good" for her hips and her elbows are "Normal". This means when she has her 2nd cycle, around May, she'll be ready to give us more amazing puppies. We are looking forward to our first litter of Multigen Labradoodles for those that are interested in the non shedding traits that Labradoodles are so known for.
Our foundation female, Maggie, is now retired from breeding. She gave us beautiful F1b puppies in her career and she was the mom of the very first litter whelped here at Orchard View Labradoodles. We are happy to give Maggie the gift of retirement and, even though we'll miss her, we'll be happy for her when she joins her forever family. She's a great girl and we know she deserves to be a true pet in a family where the people outnumber the dogs. :)
This year we will be looking for a few good homes for our guardian family program. If you are interested in finding out more about that, please email me for more details!
I will update AS SOON AS Rosie goes into heat for those of you waiting so patiently. I'm going to have a serious talk with her over the next few days, we'll see if it works.
